“Why do you want to work here?”
This is one of the common questions that most hiring managers ask. But wait! This question is very tricky to answer since the information that they are looking is far more complicate.
So, let us analyze deeper on what they really ask to their candidate.
To get things right, one must consider the idea of what the company need. This simply means that it is not about you or your goals in work but it’s about the contribution that you can offer in the company as you go through with them.
So in order to win something, you should follow good policy. Meaning, “Just be honest with yourself”, this simple question is a showstopper, unless one leaves a job for some negative reason.
Sadly, negative reason for leaving a job or even it is not your mistake is some of the common things for people to move. So if that is you, don’t panic. It is possible to share positive and sincere answer regardless with the circumstances you have.
First of all, one can never know the interviewers thinking, especially to someone that you have just met for the first time.
The hiring manager or the interviewer might assume nothing but good things about the candidate. The interview might intend to warm -up things but not a confession seeker. Try to answer question put on you rather than fear of the question that they ask which may lead to trouble.
Plenty of reasons can be told, there are even saying that says “People don’t leave companies; they leave people”. Or maybe you’re just bored and got frustrated on what you do and decided to change scene or maybe you need a greener pasture.
They key point is that you are a normal being who wants to move on. So, the starting point is follow what your heart feel and hide nothing. As if you hide something and lie, you will start to sweat and your interviewer might start throwing harder questions.
