There are thousands of steps that you can read on how to succeed online, but this time we will integrate and recreate a diversion of all those shared information in the past.
Personally, I have seen not just hundred but thousands of people who start and have their business successfully grown by just following these simplified sequence.
Step 1: Discover a community need and fill it
Common mistake why most business fail is because they tend to look for a certain product first and market.
In order to boost higher chances of success, start with the market. A simple trick is to find certain group who are looking for solution on a certain problem (internet makes research easy).
The best ways to search is by visiting forums online and discover what most people ask and the problems they are trying to solve.
Try to use the search function and do some keyword research of what most people search, then check potential competitors by simply visiting their websites and analyze who they fill the demand. Then use what you have learned and create your product for the existing market and do better.
Step 2: Write a sales copy that really sells
You can search tons of proven sales copy that will take visitor through selling process the moment they arrive and make there their purchase.
So to do it:
- start by using compelling headline that arouse their interest,
- you can even describe your product and how it solves the problem,
- establish credibility as solver of the problem,
- add legitimate testimonials from the people who used the product you offer,
- talk how the product benefits the user,
- make an offer,
- create strong assurance,
- create necessity and lastly ask for sale.
Make sure that you need to focus on your product throughout the sales copy and how it uniquely solves the problem and make their lives even better “think like a customer”.
Step 3: Build your first Website
After finalizing your market, product and your selling process, now get ready for your small business website design. Make things simple and remember that five seconds is the time limit in order to grab your clients’ attention other than that, they will be gone.
My advice is to choose plain fonts on white background, make the navigation simple on every page. Use simple graphics or video to enhance your message (note video should be less than two minutes). Include offer for you to collect email addresses, make it easy for users to buy with just two clicks.
The website is your storefront online so make sure that it will be customer friendly.
Step 4: Invest to get targeted buyers
Advertising through keyword research by Pay-per-click is the easiest method to get traffic. Well, this method has advantage rather than just waiting for traffic to come organically.
PPC shows ads on search pages immediately, PPC allows website owners to test keywords, headlines, prices and even selling approaches. This will also help your ranking in the search results.
Step 5: Establish Reputation
Internet is used by people to find certain information. So provide free information to other sites, and you will see traffic much better than search result rankings. The idea is to include your website link after sharing legit information.
If you can hire experts that can create expert content do it! Create videos or articles that other people will find it useful. Distribute these contents through online directories and even on social media sites.
Make yourself active on forums and build reputation where your target market hangs out (this can be hard for some, but trust me it worked for me).
Step 6: Increase income through back-end sales and up-selling
The most important part of internet marketing is to create customer’s lifetime value. According to most research, 36 percent of people who purchased from you will buy again if you do some follow-up.
Closing your first sale is the most difficult part or shall I say the most expensive. So use a back-end selling and up-selling for them to buy again:
How to do it?
Simple, just offer products that will complement their previous purchase or send electronic coupons they can redeem on their next purchase.
Reward their loyalty and they will surely become more loyal.
