5 tips for creating excellent landing pages

Landing pages are very important tools in online marketing.

This is the page where your customers “land” after clicking a link that businesspeople have provided while promoting their products or services. These links could be from:

  • advertisements (Google Adwords, CPA offers),
  • emails,
  • blogs,
  • Facebook, LinkedIn or different social media platforms.

In other words, the landing page is where the customers go to when they already know a thing or two about what you are selling and might be considering a purchase. This is also every online entrepreneur’s chance to convert those clicks into sales.

Thus, landing pages must make a positive impression on your customers. An excellent landing page is well-strategized: It looks good and it achieves its purpose.

The landing page must be the same theme with the website, blogs, advertisements, and posts in social networking sites.

This helps the customers be sure that they are where they wanted to be, and not redirected to some other webpage.

Keep the layout as simple as possible, avoid cluttering graphics, and put complementary and contrasting colors to good use. Remember, nobody likes looking at an explosion of pixels onscreen. Instead, use the layout as an online marketing tool to help clients complete their purchase.

The landing page is not a space to use for introducing your product or service, as that is something that they should have come across before arriving at the landing page.

This space must be devoted to last-minute details that a customer should know about your online business and a road map to the completion of the purchase.

Other words that appear on the page which are not needed to fulfill this purpose are not necessary.

  1. Mind your grammar.

This is the page where the customers will decide to put their full trust in your online business.

They might be asked to give personal details, including where they live and sometimes, their credit card information (and on that note, make sure that your websites security is fool-proof as well).

Having bad grammar might turn them off and lead them to change their minds about the purchase.

  1. Check how fast your landing page loads.

More than anything, customers who opt to buy from online businesses do not like to be kept waiting. In those moments of waiting, they might decide to look for the same product at another online store, or entirely change their mind about purchasing altogether.

If the waiting time to load the landing page takes longer than usual, check your page for the cause of such, and remedy this.

  1. Be mobile-friendly.

The world is no longer attached just to desktops and/or laptops. A lot of devices which are easier to carry are being preferred by people nowadays. Online businesses cannot sacrifice the quality of their landing page’s layout.

Make sure to prepare for the many devices that your customers might have, so that the landing page won’t need to adjust to their screens and risk having a page that is difficult to navigate.
